Terms & Conditions
British Historical Jewellery Preserving the past, forging the future.
1. General Overview Welcome to British Historical Jewellery. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and the purchase of our goods. By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these terms. Our primary workshop and business operations are located at the Leeds Corn Exchange, United Kingdom.
2. Made-to-Order & Complimentary Sizing We do not pull mass-produced jewelry from a shelf. Every single piece is meticulously handcrafted, finished, and forged to your exact specifications upon order.
-
No Resize Fees: Because your piece is built from scratch for you, there are absolutely no additional fees to forge the item to your requested size. The price you see is the price you pay for a perfectly fitted piece of history.
-
It is your sole responsibility to provide an accurate, professionally measured ring size at the time of your order.
3. Free Worldwide Shipping & Tariff-Free Guarantee We believe the price you see at checkout should be the final price you pay, regardless of where you live in the world.
-
Free Delivery: We offer complimentary, fully tracked, and insured shipping on all orders globally.
-
Taxes and Tariffs Covered: For our international collectors, British Historical Jewellery covers all import duties, customs fees, and local border taxes. Your solid gold or silver piece will arrive at your door with no unexpected bills from your local customs authority.
4. Returns, Faults, and the Nature of Bespoke Goods Because every item is custom-forged and sized specifically for you, your order is legally exempt from standard "change of mind" cancellation periods under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. We do not offer refunds or exchanges if you simply change your mind after the piece has been forged.
-
Damaged or Faulty Goods: We stand completely behind our 16 years of master craftsmanship. If a piece arrives damaged in transit or is genuinely faulty upon delivery, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are fully protected. You must notify us within 30 days of delivery.
-
The Inspection Process: We will not issue any refunds or begin forging a replacement piece until the original, damaged item has been returned to our Leeds workshop and visually inspected by our team to confirm the fault.
-
Return Shipping for Faults: If the item is confirmed to be faulty or broken in transit, British Historical Jewellery will cover the return shipping costs. We will then offer you the choice of a full refund or an expedited, newly forged replacement.
5. Shipping Liability Due to the high value of our inventory, all orders require a signature upon delivery. Our insurance covers your piece while it is in transit across the globe. The risk of loss or damage to the goods passes to you, the customer, the moment the package is signed for at your designated delivery address.
6. Intellectual Property All designs, photographs, branding, and text on this website are the intellectual property of British Historical Jewellery. While our work is inspired by historical eras (Viking, Roman, Saxon, Celtic, and Medieval), our specific reproductions, molds, and modern interpretations are proprietary. Unauthorized reproduction or commercial use of our imagery or designs is strictly prohibited.
7. Hallmarking and Authenticity We fully comply with the UK Hallmarking Act 1973. All relevant gold, silver, and platinum pieces sold by British Historical Jewellery are independently tested and hallmarked by an official UK Assay Office, guaranteeing the legal purity of the precious metals.
8. Governing Law These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
